Dust and Dawn
Dust and Dawn is a personal project and is the first full story I have been working on. While it will take a while to fully develop, it is a full game, after all; my goal is to put up as much information here as I can, to keep it as up-to-date as possible. Originally starting as a minor side project inside the Final Frontier series (specifically Rebuild) that started in late 2025, it has since become a spiritual successor to Keen Sword after its end in the same year. Many of its original ideas can be traced to this origin, including the very idea that underpins the entire story: What if machines of war were people? It engages with this fully. What does it mean to be trusted and respected? What does it do to someone who does not want to let themselves be defined this way? How does it affect someone's state of mind?
Story
Due to some personal issues, the story is currently under reconstruction.
The Empire of Amito, one of thousands of nations of the Galaxy, engaged in an existentialist force against an unnamed extragalactic invader. The invader, for the lack of a name often simply called the Legion or Swarm due to their tremendous numbers, has taken large swaths of land, now controlling nearly a third of the galactic rim, but it finally seems as if there is an opportunity for counterattack. That attack is to take place in one of the dense nebula regions separating Amito from the inner core known as the Great Rift Nebula. The structure spans almost 30 light years across and has been taken over without much opposition due to the terrain. However, now with the strike opportunity presenting itself, the player, taking the place of a fleet commander, is put in charge of the small strike force and provided resources to fulfill this goal.
Unfortunately, they do not just have to face the invading legion (and the occasional pirate), but also deal with internal politics.
